A Missionaries Diary

Today we began building the nursery school at Watoto Village. We left our hotel at about 7am and traveled with two busses through the inner city. The poverty is unbelievable in places. The traffic is indescribable as you speed past women with a child tied on their backs on the way to the market. You see men hauling full loads of banana’s on their bikes. On the way to the site our guide told us that we must not go into the bush because there many poisonous snakes in the weeds. He also said that they have killed Cobra snakes on occasion. The work at the site was very difficult. I was so tired out by lunch that I thought I would never move again. Please pray that the Lord will give the global team strength to finish the project we have begun. We are planning on flying to Gulu on Wednesday. We will be visiting the refugee camp and touring the city. We are planning on interviewing some of the soldiers that fought in the war. Pray that God will give us favor in the eyes of the Uganda people. I believe the Lord is about to pour out a major revival in this area. (Connie)

Today was by far the most hard-working day! It was amazing to see how work is done here in Uganda. In the US we use forklifts, and many other means of construction. The Ugandans use MAN-POWER we made lines of 22 people strong and moved more than 400 bricks. We also laid them and mixed our concrete with red dirt and quickcrete. (Matt)

Other than the work that amazed me I was also amazed by the unity of this Global Team. We all came from 6 different countries to take care of one cause. It was the most incredible experience I have ever had. (Matt)

Well my time for today is over but I will be back on day six. I am going to the Watoto offices tomorrow to meet with the administration and see if I can use my video for promotions for future mission trips. I love you all! Especially my blessed family! Dana, Jaxson, Jerzee… (Matt)
